Recognized by Playback as one of Canada’s "10 to Watch," Renuka is a screenwriter from Kitimat, BC.

After pivoting from finance to storytelling in 2020, she has earned credits on series including "I WOKE UP A VAMPIRE" (Netflix), "REGINALD THE VAMPIRE" (Amazon), "ALLEGIANCE" (CBC), "STREAMS FLOW  FROM A RIVER (S2) and "CREW GIRL" (Netflix).

Beyond produced credits, she has contributed to series development in collaboration with CBC, Bell Media, and Corus Entertainment. Her current slate includes a CMF/Bell Media-supported original comedy and a horror series adapted from the work of acclaimed novelist Ray Garton.

A member of the Indo-Fijian diaspora, Renuka's storytelling explores identity, belonging, familial duty, and self-fulfillment. Her short script, PETTICOAT, which explores cultural identity through genre, was awarded the Tasveer Film Festival Short Film Fund and is co-produced under her banner, IN GOOD HANDS MEDIA.

Renuka was the only BC writer selected for the 2023 WBD Access × Canadian Academy Writers Program, is an alumna of the Pacific Screenwriting Program's Scripted Series Lab, and mentors with the Black Screen Office.
